encouragement, a shoulder to lean on
2. You can apply for a
family member or neighbor, make sure you specify your
relationship to the one/family in need.
3. You MUST re-apply every
9 months if you are still in need.
4. Adoptees will be
classified in category according to disaster/need.
5. Fill out the VICTIM
FORM completely. You MUST include a detailed
summary of your needs/experience. If you are a storm
victim and are in need of housing or something specific - please
post on form.
6. You must post correct
contact information, if adopted and can not be reached - you
will be taken off the tree and adopter will choose another
family.
7. There will be a running list of
ADOPTEES posted on the website. As families are Adopted ... an
adopted
ANGEL will appear on the tree beside the families name ... and only one care package
will be sent per family.
8. Only the names, ages, how many
children will be posted. No personal information about sizes,
interests, phone numbers, addresses, etc. will be posted online. THIS
WILL BE GIVEN ONLY TO THE ADOPTERS.
(For example: Jones; family of 5; mother - 35, father - 38,
children 3, 5, 8; originally from Jonesville, Virginia)
9. Does your family need
something specific? An air conditioner, a heater, books
for school, medical supplies, shoes etc? Please share your
needs with those willing to help.
10. BE HONEST.
If you are not struggling - please do not post here. If
you are a scam artist - please do not waste the time of those
willing to give of their hearts. If you are adopted ... PLEASE
BE COURTEOUS and APPRECIATIVE enough to thank your Adopter
for all they have done for you.
11. Keep us informed ...
We'll be contacting you and we'll be keeping in touch with both
parties and monitoring the progress!
12. Keep your chin up and an open
heart and mind to receive blessings and encouragement from those
who love you.

2. Those wishing to Adopt an
individual or family - read through the list and choose a
family.
3. Fill out the ADOPTER
FORM
with the name and ID# of the family they wish to adopt. (Please choose
at least 3 families, in case the first or second one you choose
has already been adopted in the last 24 hours.)
4. If you would like to
adopt more than one family at a time - please specify in
comments box.
5. We will place an Adopted ANGEL on the
tree beside
that families name on the website. And show that you adopted them
and the date adopted.
6. We will send all family
information to the Adopter and they will contact the family in need.
This information is for the Adopter ONLY - and we ask that you please do
not give out this information to anyone else or any other entity.
These families in crisis are already going through enough - their
personal contact information does not need to be spread to anyone who
isn't helping them.
7. Make a care package
for this family. Please ask the family what their needs are -
please read our list
of gift ideas.
8. Please refrain from
sending MONEY - unless you feel totally comfortable with the
family you are adopting and are assured that your money will be
spent wisely.
9. Consider paying off a
bill for them - if needed - if you do - mail the payment
directly to the company in which the money is owed.
10. We ask that you send us a
letter regarding your experience with the family you connect with.
We would like to post it on the site to be a source of encouragement and
inspiration for all who read it.
11. When you adopt a
family, you are taking a step in Faith to help someone who is
ASKING for help. It is our job and yours to listen to them
intently as they describe their experiences and use your judgment
and leadership from God to help these folks.
12. Our phones are always
open to help you and DO NOT hesitate to call us and share or ask
questions.
