231 years ago ... our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence ... establishing America to be free from the political bonds which enslaved them from inequality, liberty and their happiness.  America was established to be united ... standing together ... a people coming to the aid of their friends and neighbors ... encouraging one another ... lighting the paths for those who may tread through dark hours of despair and sorrow when disaster and tragedy has stricken. 

Through the past 231 years ... technology and socialistic views have clouded the vision of our founders for "We the People." 

Prejudice ... hatred ... jealously ... envy ... and a "give me" attitude has crept in Americans from the top to the bottom.

"We the People" have built a wall between God and ourselves and those less fortunate than we.

"We the People" have expected government to "do it all" ... rescue those who have lost everything ... and have let our leaders encourage the building up of an America with lavish homes, high fences, shut up windows ... and no front porches.

The Declaration of Independence reads ...

"When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers form the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."

With that being said ... let's think back to August 29, 2005.

Hurricane Katrina ... America's most tragic storm in History.
Changing the lives of millions of people FOREVER!

All men ... created by God ... are equal ... with a soul ... with a heart ... dissolved the political and governmental bonds which were not "required" to "fix" all that was broken.

We as Americans ... "We the People" ... can once again help one another ...
one family at a time!

When disaster struck ... PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD wanted to help ... they wanted to give ... not just money - but their own goods ... their time ... their helping hands ...
their love ... their friendship ... their souls ... this website created friendships and gave encouragement that the government could not do ...

Curtis and I have prayed and prayed for God to lead us where to take this site.  We have been offered almost a million dollars for this site so others can use it to scam America ... we have labored in love to maintain the site and to keep it going strong.  15 Million hits since August 29, 2005 ... We believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had a special purpose in all that happened with the giving of "my name" ... the website being established almost 9 years ago ... the Hurricane being named Katrina ... and God using my talents to use this site to help thousands of people find missing loved ones, get back on their feet again and connect adopters with those families who needed a helping hand.  We have asked the Lord to guide us and are now trusting that we can continue giving of our hearts, our souls, our Christian faith and our witness for the Lord to give America and Christians a new challenge. 

July ... 2007 ... the Katrina Angel Tree will take on a whole new face.

God has spoken ... and we fell led to take the disaster in August 2005 and use it as an example of how American's can come to the aid of Fellow Americans!  Teach people how to help ... how to encourage ... and how to touch the lives of those in need.

It won't be just about "Hurricane Katrina Victims" ... it will be about Families in need ALL over AMERICA!  Whether it is a tornado in Kansas who wiped an entire town out - or a fire in California that claimed the homes of precious folks ... if there is a disaster that has left families in need and they are begging for help ... then we'll match them up with people who give of their heart and soul.

If you are a victim of a disaster ... you will be able to apply for assistance from a family around the country.  You will be required to honestly share your disaster story ... honestly cry for help ... and open your HEART FIRST ... and then your hands to Angels who want to see you be a light in a dark world.

If you would like to be an Angel to someone in need ... send them a box of clothes, or dishes, or linens, or groceries ... you will be able to choose a family to connect with and be a friend.  Share with someone less fortunate, encourage them to get back on their feet, share the Love of Christ and lighten their dark path.

We are encouraging churches to help us in this challenge to touch "We the People" ... one family at a time!
